Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

The Memorial Hall hosted an afternoon tea on Sunday 6th June, to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Lots of members of the community came along to enjoy live music provided by Steve Boast, with his ukelele, and later the Summerbridge and Dacre Silver Band entertained the crowd.

A homemade buffet supplied by our volunteers went down a treat, with local butcher, Weatherhead’s, providing us with some of their famously delicious pies.

The previous day, the Memorial Hall had loaned out tables to Pateley Bridge and Bewerley councils for their combined “Picnic In The Park”. A bit of logistics ensured they were all back in the Hall ready for our own event on the Sunday.

The Hall has seen many anniversaries over the years, but this may truly be a once in a lifetime event, perhaps never to be repeated. As always, a huge thanks to our briliant band of bakers, who provided a wonderful spread, and to everyone who came to decorate and help out on the day.
